Uniwell POS

World first for Jost 154 Restaurant
Australians have a reputation for embracing new technology and in the true Aussie spirit John and Stevie Strano from Brisbane's Jost 154 restaurant have become the first restaurant in the world to install the new Uniwell AX-3000.

JOST 154 is located in downtown Melbourne Street, South Brisbane and opened on the 8th October 2009. It has ultra modern ambience created from cool colours and creative décor. The menu has a strong Italian flavour influenced by John’s family background and his passion for cooking.

Sold and Supported by Mike Bond from POS Power hospitality. Mike attended the recent Sydney product launch of the AX-3000 and decided that the new AX-3000 was the ideal ultra modern POS terminal for an ultra modern restaurant such as Jost 154.

Touch Screen Protection Covers Released
The screen on a touch screen terminal is made up of two items. A LCD screen and a touch panel which fits over the screen. The touch panel is usually a toughened glass panel with a fine wire matrix layer over the top which registers the actual touch.
It is very tempting for operators to use a pen or other object to tap on the touch screen but one of the problems with this is that the actual touch screen can become worn or damaged by long term use with sharp objects such as finger nails and pens. Once they become worn or damaged the terminal will not respond to touch anymore and the touch panel has to be replaced. There is an obvious cost of the service call and replacement touch panel and then there is the inconvenience of having a terminal out of action while this is done.
Uniwell has now released range of screen covers available for the Uniwell TX875, DX895 and DX915 terminals.
The screen covers completely cover the screen area, reduce wear on the touch panel and also stop crumbs, beer and other debris collecting at the bottom of the screen which in turn may cause the touch panel to malfunction.
The cover also has a unique patented design of a matrix of fine nodes that reduce air pockets between the cover and the screen and improves touch response when the cover is placed on the screen.

Have you been Conditioned ?

Technology is rapidly changing and many people believe that in order to stay up to date they need to be buying new products or constantly be upgrading their current system without really stopping to consider if they need to.
Those who use computers tend to accept software lock up’s and expensive system upgrades as the norm. With point of sale systems they may also expect to pay annual software maintenance fees to keep their system running.
This is part of the CONDITIONING that comes with computerisation and why you should stop and think about how much a system will cost you in the long term not just for the initial outlay.
Uniwell ROM based systems are designed specifically for point of sale, using state of the art Uniwell embedded operating systems. There are no hard disks to crash, no windows software to upgrade and no need for firewalls, antivirus software and internet security suites slowing your system down and constantly monitoring the internet for upgrades. With Uniwell even if you are connected to the internet for reporting or product updates there is no chance of a hack attack.
Uniwell systems are designed to give many years of trouble free operation without the need for hardware and software maintenance contracts.
When looking for a new system, don’t just look at the initial up front costs, check out how much the system is expected to cost over the next five years.

New Security System Released
Uniwell POS Australia had released a new sales monitoring system that allows customers to use a multi-camera environment to monitor their business and sales activity.

The Queensland Government Sports Facilities Authority chooses Uniwell for the new Skilled Park Stadium.
Skilled Park Stadium, built by Watpac Construction and managed by Queensland Government Sports Facilities Authority with catering organised by Michael O’Brien Catering.
These 3 organisations got together during construction time to make a decision about which POS system to install to cater for the many thousands of hungry and thirsty fans on game and function days.
They were looking for a system that was fast, robust and reliable while at the same time being easy to operate by the mainly casual staff that would be serving customers on the day. The system also had to be sophisticated enough to provide a wealth of back office stock and sales information to Michael O’Brien Catering.
From a host of systems available on the market the organisers settled on a POS System supplied by Uniwell POS Australia.
The original installation of 100 Uniwell terminals has now been expanded to 112 Terminal.

Fruit and Veggie Stores Love the new Uniwell Touch Screen System
Uniwell distributors are successfully installing Uniwell touch screen systems in fruit and vegetable stores throughout the country.
There a number of good reasons why store owners are turning to Uniwell for their new Point of Sale systems.

* The Uniwell operation system designed specifically for fruit and veg has a fast access flexible screen layout which allows operators to locate any item within a couple of touches.

* Fast accurate customer service means satisfied customers.

* Uniwell touch screen systems are designed and manufactured in Japan specifically for the rigorous conditions of Point of Sale. They are not a general purpose PC that has been adapted to point of sale.

* Uniwell systems are a ROM based terminal not a computer terminal and do not experience the lock up's and operating system problems often found with PC solutions.

* There is no waiting for a Uniwell system to reboot and software to restart after a power failure; the Uniwell system will return to the exact position it was at in the sale within a few seconds of the power resuming.

* Unlike computer systems, once set up and installed Uniwell Point of Sale terminals do not need software or hardware upgrades resulting in very low cost of ownership.
